The only complaint I have with his performance was his insistence on how the American people want Serious leadership. I think they would take unserious leadership if unserious leadership brought the unemployment rate down from 9.2%

I only tuned into the end of the conference, but I have never seen the President so publicly angry as I've seen him during today's press conference. He was really laying into the suicide caucus and House Republican's refusal to accept any revenue increases as part of a deficit and debt reduction plan. Maybe he was lulled into a false sense of security by his success during the 111th's lame duck session, but based on his experience with HCR, the Stimulus and Financial Reform, he ought to know that the modern Republican party is completely unwilling to cooperate on anything that makes him look good. He wishes politics was equivalent to the stag hunt, but in reality politics is the prisoner's dilemma. It's American Political Science 101.
